It is important that people share what they do first before getting into the details of how they do what they do. -- Ryan Foland
My name is Ryan Foland .
I am a problem solver by nature. My personal experiences as an entrepreneur has helped me grow into a writer and professional speaker.
I think it's the unique background, a blend of opposing forces.
I hold two BA degrees from UC Santa Barbara: Business Economics and Dramatic Arts; and an MBA from the University of Pheonix.
In other words, my macro-to-micro systems analysis and business acumen are rivaled only by my theatrical ability to engage and delight audiences.
Most of all I have a passion for people and a love for innovation.
In 2013, UC Irvine invited me to spearhead Blackstone LaunchPad, a nationally-recognized program to educate startups. During this time, I consulted and mentored hundreds of startup businesses.
Doing this, I learned a ton of messy, complicated, and fascinating things about people, innovation, business, marketing, and life. I enjoy sharing this info with audiences in a way that's simple, clear, entertaining, inspiring, and informative.
Riveting success stories. Enlightening failure stories. Critical business lessons and valuable life lessons. Narratives that connect with a broad range of demographics but feel deeply personal.
Through storytelling and rapport building, I break down complex topics into bite-sized pieces. Readers and audiences come away with info they can apply and share.
My pervasive theme is that the quality of your messaging, both verbal and written, can make or break careers, businesses, even industries.
Through the lens of a master communicator, I cover startup issues, social media strategies, and personal branding techniques.
I also focus on mastery in general. How to become a master communicator / entrepreneur / leader / writer / speaker / manager / team player / etc.
I enjoy direct access to a network of influential people who I often tap for valuable insights, interviews, and company profiles. I'm always on the lookout to make relevant introductions within my network. Join it!

Most presentations and pitches have too much information, leaving the audience feeling bored, overwhelmed and wanting it to be over. My advice is to keep it simple and make it powerful. - Ryan Foland
